Hello Fellow Felines!

I am 21 years old now and still as ornery as can be!  We moved to a new house with a couple acres and I have a lot of room now.  The other cats go in and out the cat door so I get to have the whole house (and Shawna) to myself much of the time!  We have a fireplace and I love laying stretched out in front of it, soaking up the heat.

Until next time,
The World Famous Simba Cat

Autumn 2007
Hello Fellow Felines!

It is the end of my world.  My horrible humans adopted another cat.  Then they instituted what they call "the open door policy."  This means us old cats upstairs have to put up with the three young-uns running through the entire house, willy-nilly!!  I have lost all my privacy and now I spend the days sleeping in various hiding spots and spend the nights hissing at curious juvenile cats!

huff huff,
The World Famous Simba Cat

P.S. Okay, I will have to admit there is an upside... Now I get more laptime and Shawna shared her chicken dinner with me today.

August 2007
Hello Fellow Felines!

August is upon us and I am relaxing in the AC.  Not a whole lot is going on now... Last week Shawna captured a feral kitten in the have-a-heart trap.  It was a 10 week old runt that was starving and being bullied by his sibling.  Shawna thought she could save him and took him to the vet and everything.  He died anyway and she keeps crying and hugging me a little too much!  While that little cat was in the kennel cage downstairs, I refused to come down.  So even though Shawna is sad he is gone, me and the other cats are content to be the ones who own the house!

Have a wonderful Summer!

July 2007
Greetings Fellow Felines!

July 18 is Shawna's birthday and she shares the day with me!  I will be 14 years old.  She will be 38...  In cat years, I am older.
The catnip is 5 feet high and flowering now.  I don't go outside for very long anymore.  Shawna doesn't understand why.  I'm certainly not telling.  She is kind enough to bring the flowering buds in and hand feed them to me.  Ah, pampering- can never get enough!
Have a wonderful Summer!

Hello Fellow Felines!

My goodness, it has been a terrific spring.  Shawna put plant food in my catnip garden and it has grown up to 3 feet tall !  If you have a nice sunny spot in your yard, you can easily grow catnip too.  Shawna buys Cosmic Catnip for us in the winter and in the dregs of the very bottom of the container, there are a zillion seeds.  Once you get them started, they take off and make their own seeds in the fall.  Those you can keep and plant in the spring again.  I LOVE CATNIP !!!!

Hello Fellow Felines!

Wonderful May is here!  My humans Shawna and Dan, bought a gazebo and a pool so we are going to have fun this summer!  They got some nice patio furniture with cushioned chairs so I will be chilling in the screened gazebo in style!  I sure hope Shawna doesn't think she's putting me on a raft in that pool- I may have to bite her!

April 2007
Hello Fellow Felines!

Wow the weather has been weird.  We had 80 degree temperatures and I was having a great time digging in the flower beds.  Now it is 30 degrees, snowing and blowing and just awful outside.  Shawna keeps telling us that she does not control the heat and cold outside but none of us believe her.  We give her nasty looks when she opens the door and we feel the chill wind.
I still hate Simon and he still is wanting to get me.  He sits at the door and meows at me in frustration.   Shawna is still hoping we will learn to get along.  Yeah, right!!

March 2007
Hello Fellow Felines!

Hooray it's March!  That means Spring is just around the corner and we can go outside to play!  I am getting tired of just sitting in the windows day after day.  That horrible Simon is still out to get me so I am extra careful to look all around for him.  When we are outside, he doesn't even bother me.  Of course Shawna keeps him tied up to a leash because he is young and would try to jump the fence or climb the tree.  He is only allowed out when she is out too.
Happy St. Patrick's Day everyone!

February 2007
Hello Fellow Felines!

Winter has finally kicked in and it has been below freezing for a long time now.  Shawna opened up another room upstairs to give us more space and more window beds to choose from.  Simon and Mandy go to bed earlier now so we can spend more time with the humans in the evening.  Shawna likes to brush me while she is watching t.v. and I love sitting on the warming blanket over her lap.
All kinds of stray cats are showing up outside to drink water and warm up inside Scaredy Cat's heated house.  Shawna is surprised at how many new strays she is seeing out there.
Stay inside if you can and keep warm!

January 2007
Winter is going wonderfully so far in north east Ohio.  We have only had one snow storm and then the 40's and 50's came back.  I have still been going outside almost daily and I am getting used to the shared house schedule.  Shawna took Simon off the megestrol because even though his attitude changed, mine didn't so it was pointless.  That little Mandy kitten who has never done anything to me, still creeps me out and I just refuse to get along with those two new cats.  Maybe I am just getting old and set in my ways, but since I was here before them, I have that right.  At least I have peace and quiet upstairs in my own room, and no people or t.v. or phones to disrupt my napping.  Marlee and Mike also lay around upstairs because they are old and don't like the new ones either.  We come downstairs at night after the young ones have gone to bed.  I still watch Jay Leno with Shawna!

Happy New Year!

December 2006

Hello Fellow Felines!

Winter is finally beginning to rear it's ugly ice and now I am stuck inside for long periods of time.  It is okay, I sleep a lot anyway.  I have my own heated waterbed and a choice window view.
Shawna has put that hateful Simon on megestrol which is a synthetic female hormone.  This is supposed to calm him down so he can make friends with me.  (I doubt that will happen... hiss!)  Shawna is not pleased with the affects so far because now he is just a plain old boring cat instead of the three ring circus he used to be.  We will see what happens over the next few weeks.
Merry Christmas everyone!

Hello Fellow Felines!

Mouse hunting season is going well.  My human, Shawna, has raked the leaves into a long pile along the fence and Mike and I scout the perimeter for mice.  It is cold at night now, so the mice are really running for the house.  I come in to warm up and eat a snack, then it is back out for more chasing.  I still sleep upstairs all day long because those hateful new cats are still downstairs.  The house is big enough that I suppose I could avoid them indefinitely.  It might get pretty boring though once the snow flies.  Shawna promises to spend more time upstairs with me next month because she got a new sewing machine and it is in my bedroom.  Aren't I just so sweet to share my room with her? ;-)

Purrs,
The World Famous Simba Cat

October 2006
You kitties out there are not going to believe the latest news.  First of all, the old Amber cat who had two strokes and became deaf and senile, wandered off last week.  Shawna says she walked off to the rainbow bridge and Dan says she is still out there walking somewhere.  So Shawna was crying and Dan let that little kitten in the house!!  She looks like me only small, and it freaks me out!  Simon plays with her and only jumps on top of her occasionally.  Shawna thinks the new kitten (named Mandy) will teach Simon manners and then he will be nicer to us older girls.  Mike is the only one that scares Simon and keeps him in line.   Marlee and I sleep upstairs all day and then I go out mouse hunting all night.  I usually lay in bed with Shawna to watch Jay Leno and then go out.   She has been trying hard to pay attention to me, but I refuse to hang out downstairs with the two new ones. And Shawna will of course include new pictures of THEM.

September 2006
Hello Fellow Felines!

September is here, the leaves are starting to turn, and I am going to be trapped in this house with that lousy Siamese in just a few months.  Shawna found out online that he is actually called a Snow-shoe Lynx Point Siamese.  He is like a $400 cat.  I still hate his guts.  Shawna has been trying to get me to play patty-cakes with him under the bedroom door, but I just hiss and spit and try to run under the bed.  The male human, Dan, is getting fed up with the doors of separation... He wants us to fight it out and get it over with.  I don't see how that is really fair since Simon the Siamese is armed with claws and I am without weapons.  Shawna wants to dress him in baby clothes with his paws covered, but cant seem to hold the wiley thing down to do it.  Wish me luck, it's going to be a tough season!

August 2006
Hello Fellow Felines!

July didn't turn out much better than June, sorry to say.  Shawna took in a new cat on our birthday.  He is absolutely a horrible little boy.  He keeps trying to beat me and Marlee up.  Shawna promises that he will be much nicer after he gets "fixed" but that won't happen until he is done with all his antibiotics.  I guess he has a respiratory infection or something.  I am worried though, because if he is this crazy while he is sick, what will he be like healthy?  He is about a year old and is a Siamese-Tabby mix.  He has blue eyes and the crazy Siamese personality.  I'm doomed...

July 2006
Hello Fellow Felines!

June ended up being an awful month for us kitties.  The neighbors must have invested a whole paycheck in fireworks because they lit them off every night for the past month and freaked us all out!  Marlee lives in the basement now and my human searched for an hour to find me in my latest hiding spot... under a four inch shelf in the kitchen corner.  Now that Independence Day is past, things should finally quiet down.
I had an adventure last week that scared my human, Shawna-
She was rooting around in the crawl space looking for stuff to put in the yard sale and I went in to look around.  No big deal, I have done it before.  But this time I found an opening I didn't see before that led to the areas above the kitchen and bathroom ceiling.  I shot in there and explored for a very long time!  It was great!  Shawna wasn't too happy though, she was crying and calling me but I was too busy.  Then I guess that male human, Dan, thumped the ceilings because the noise scared me and I came running out.  Shawna says no more crawl space for me.  Until next time, anyway...  hee-hee!

My human has put a huge cage in the living room for that Amber cat.  She says she is elderly now and they have to keep an eye on her.   I like keeping my eyes on her- I stare her down!  We are not upset about it yet though because the air smells faintly of feliway.
The days around here have been pretty quiet lately because the humans are off working again.  I sure miss the lap time though.

I absolutely love Spring.  We did find out one curious thing this year though...  Shawna and I are allergic to tree pollen!  They said on the news that this spring has had extremely high pollen counts and it has affected both of us.  I have been sneezing and my eyes are watery after I come in from outside.  Shawna has the same thing.  She figured out what was wrong with me on  her My Space: Cats Rock! group.  She is learning lots of new things there about us kitties!

Happy Easter Fellow Felines!

My pet human, Shawna, has been so busy decorating her new place on My Space that she forgot to come update MY site!  Hey, I was here first!

Anyway, it has been a busy time for the humans.  With spring coming, they are back to work on their rental properties so we get to sleep peacefully all day.   Then with our stored energy, we prowl around all night!

Hope you all have a wonderful spring... I purrsonally can't wait to get outside and play!

March 2006
Happy St. Patrick's Day Fellow Felines!

Let's see, March is in like a lion and hopefully out like a lamb.  We have snow on the ground here in N.E. Ohio, but the spring flowers are poking up their little shoots from the ground so it won't be long now.

Shawna has been trying to make Yellow Cross-eyed Kitty well again.  She tried to stuff him in a carrier and take him to the vet but he freaked out and she couldn't do it.  I guess it is hard to fix a sick kitty when they won't cooperate.   Anyway, she went and bought him some medicine and he is doing much better now!

Hope you all have a wonderful spring... I purrsonally can't wait to get outside and play!

Happy Valentine's Day Fellow Felines!

Winter is full upon us here in North East Ohio.  I feel like one caged kitty.  We were able to go outside quite a bit last month but now a major snow storm is coming and spring seems far away.  I am guessing this is why the humans decided to put a snuggly holiday in this month... so they could hold each other and be warm!  It's not so bad though; I am getting lots of lap time.
Give your humans a head bonk and try not to shred each other... Mike and Marlee and I are only fighting a little bit!  LOL!

December 2005
Hello Fellow Felines!

Brrrrr.... December has arrived and so has the snow.  I keep trying to go outside to find mice but they have all disappeared and the snow freezes my toes!  Now I am spending my time looking for a warm spot next to the heater, under the covers of the waterbed, or on my human's lap.
The cabin-fever chases have started already, with Marlee getting in on the action this year.  Shawna has been spraying Feliway around the house to keep us calm.  No one has tried climbing the Christmas Tree yet, but I purrsonally am waiting for just the right moment!

Happy Holidays and Warm Purrs,

Hello Fellow Felines!

I have sad news to report... my favorite club, CLAW, has shut down due to the illness of it's site owner.  We are sending good purrs her way, hope she gets better.

The frost has come to Ohio and the leaves are falling.  I have been staying out all night, every night, protecting the house from the Great Fall Mouse Invasion.

Thanksgiving is coming and I love the smell of roasting turkey! Have a great holiday everyone!

Hello Fellow Felines!

This month, I will be at the fabulous Gremlin Hunter's Halloween party and Shawna dressed me in this SUPER costume!  Here is the link to see the party:  https://www.angelfire.com/mo3/gremlins03/hlwn2005/index.html

We were also invited to the Paws for a Cause party, http://pfac.topcities.com/halloween2005/squashabuse.htm

The cold weather is coming so here is a tip for your wild kitties outside...

Supplement adult food with kitten food, or alternate kitten food with adult food starting in September, to help put weight on your feral cats for the cold winter ahead.  Kitten food has about 1½ - 2 times the calories of adult food, so your ferals will eat the same amount but gain weight.
As the days grow shorter, your feral cats will be coming out earlier to wait for food.   Unlike humans, whose lives revolve around a clock, theirs revolve around daylight hours.  Dawn and dusk is when most ferals venture out to eat.  Adjust your schedule accordingly, to insure your ferals are not waiting in the cold for you to arrive with their food.

Warm Purrs,
The World Famous Simba Cat

Hello Fellow Felines!

The kids are going back to school and I am considering it myself...  CLAW has it's own kitty university and I am thinking of doing a few classes this semester...  that is if my human has time to spend at the computer with me.  It's a little hard to type with these paws!
Shawna has taken a few new pictures of Yellow kitty and displayed them for you on the stray cat page.  He is looking better now with regular food.  He is also getting used to the humans walking around outside.  The male human joked that we should buy Yellow his own seeing-eye dog!  He could ride on his back like a pony!  Silly human.

August 2005
Hello Fellow Felines!

This month, Shawna is flying out west to see her parents for two weeks and play with my cousin cats, Simba Honey and Booger.  Dan (the male human) will be staying home and taking care of us.  He usually does a pretty good job so I am not worried.  I will miss being held and scratched and brushed by Shawna though.

Yellow kitty is still around and even after a full course of antibiotics, he is still sneezing.  Hmmm?
Here is a little piece of cat trivia about cat sneezes...
Some Italians believed that a cat sneeze meant good fortune for all who heard it.  In other parts of the world, a cat sneeze on the morning of a wedding meant the couple would have a happy marriage.  On any other day, however, it signaled rain.  If a cat sneezed three times in a row, some were convinced that everyone in the house would come down with a cold.

Hello Fellow Felines!

This month is my 12th birthday and Shawna's 36th.  Believe it or not, I am older than her in cat years!  I will be the equivalent of 62.
A kitten's first year in life is equal to about 16 human
years. By the end of the second year we are about 21
human years. Then for each additional year we age
about four human years.
I have been enjoying the wonderful summer weather, munching on catnip and soaking up the sun!
My Shawna has been working a lot but we still find time to snuggle.

June 2005
Hello Fellow Felines!

Shawna finally found the mousy under the washing machine.  I am happy that I have my buddy back!  The weather has finally shaped up and I am spending a lot of time outside.  I have already mauled one catnip plant and am now searching for a new one.
Mike is not allowed out during the day anymore.  That cross-eyed Yellow kitty came back and he looks like his owners threw him out.  Shawna has been trying to feed him and Mike is trying to kill him.  So Mike can only come out after the Yellow kitty has gone safely to bed... wherever that may be.  Yellow kitty seems almost totally blind now and Shawna is very worried about him.  If he wasn't so feral acting, we could get him a home!
Happy Father's Day!

April 2005
Hello Fellow Felines!

Rainy April has arrived and as my human sits here typing I am yowling at her to play with me.  I am bored!!  We had some nice sunny 70 degree days and now there is freezing rain.  Of course I always blame the humans for turning on the rain outside.  Very soon however, I will have my new green grass to chew, birds to thump, and warm sidewalks to happy-roll on.
Until then, I will bite Mike's back legs, thump on Marlee, and lose my mousy so I can yowl at the humans and drive them crazy!

March 2005
Hello Fellow Felines!

I have been having quite a bit of amusement the past few weeks, messing with the humans' heads!  I have a white toy mouse that I like to bat down the basement steps.  There is a back-up toy too, in case I lose the mouse.  Well, the white mouse has disappeared into the black hole of the universe that takes missing socks, car keys, and remote controls.  The humans absolutely cannot find that white mouse, and I am sure to remind them often, by crying at them, "Where is my Mousey???"   Shawna is ready to tear her hair out!  Dan keeps crawling around with a flashlight...  This is so much fun!!

Have a Happy Easter!

February 2005
Hello Fellow Felines!

Goodness, it has been hectic around here!  Our humans have torn up the kitchen floor and put down ceramic tiles!  The house is a wreck, our food is in the living room, there are two tables in the dining room, (and a litterbox under one!), the basement door is missing, and there are appliances everywhere!  They are almost done and I must say, I love the feel of the cool ceramic on my belly when I stretch out on the new floor.  We are having the usual territory disputes when everything is moved around like it is.  Marlee seems to think she owns the food now that it is in "her" room.  Mike is happy to spend his days upstairs in the spare room, looking out the window.  I am very busy of course, overseeing the whole project and putting my paw in when needed.

Have a Happy Valentine's Day!

Hello Fellow Felines!

We made it through the holidays okay and only caused one allergic reaction to a human!  Shawna's Mom got cat hair in her eyes and they turned bright red... We have some pretty lethal fur in this house.
The weather here in northeast Ohio has been really bad or really good.  Some days we are house bound, and others, Mike and I go romping in the yard.
Shawna has been sick lately so I am getting extra lap time on those snowy days.
Marlee is getting brave again and has started chasing me.  Mike still puts her back in her place though.
We kitties hope you had a nice holiday and have a Happy New Year!

The cold weather has finally arrived and I am not able to stay out all night anymore.  I have been busy scouting out new sleeping places around the house.  The male human's sock drawer is still my favorite.  I gave him a good scare the other morning when he reached in for some socks.... hehehe!!

November 2004
Hello Fellow Felines!

It certainly has been a busy autumn.  Marlee and I are having a contest to see who can bag the most mice.   Mike is all healed up from his surgery and has been trying to get me to play with him.  I am still mad at him for smelling like the vet's office so I am avoiding him.  Shawna is happy that I can at least tolerate being within a few feet of him now.  After the snow comes and we are stuck with each other, I am sure I will play with him again.  I am just to busy mouse-hunting to bother right now.

Shawna is planning to re-train me (whatever that is.)  I have been jumping up on the counter and licking the butter knife clean.  I am doing her a favor!  honest!  So anyway, I heard her muttering something to the male human about water and cookie sheets.  I wonder what that's about?

Hello Fellow Felines!
The leaves are dropping, the mice are running, the nights are cool and spooky!  I have been staying out all night, in hunt mode and sleeping all day.  This is a wonderful time of the year for us kitties!
Our human is harvesting the last of her garden and has brought in the house plants before the first frost-  which should be coming next week.  That also marks the end of the flea season and the end of those smelly drops she puts on our necks.  We won't have to deal with that again until next April !!

August 2004
Hello Fellow Felines!

Well, it is August and you know what that means... my human, Shawna, is going to see her parents for two weeks.  The man will be here to take care of us kitties but he is not as sweet and loving as her.  Sure, he loves that black cat Amber, but the rest of us are just regular cats.  Oh well, it is better than a kennel.  We still have the great outdoors and lots of bugs and critters to chase!  She will come back soon and spoil us rotten!

Hello Fellow Felines!

Hooray, it's Summer!  I have been going out every day and every night, hunting anything that moves.  I come in to eat and nap, then it is back out the door.  I caught a bird a little while ago, pounced on him then stood back to look at him.  He jumped up and flew away.  That's okay, I hadn't planned on eating him or anything.
Shawna says I am losing my winter weight and I'm looking svelte!
CLAW is having a kitty summer camp and I am participating in two cabins' activities.  I am in the first aid cabin run by Paws For A Cause and in the Creepy Crawly Hunt cabin run by Gremlin Hunters.   Go to www.claw.org to check it out if you like.
Have a safe and wonderful Summer!

June 2004
Hello Fellow Felines!

June at last!  We have had some crazy thunderstorms in our area and although I love to go outside and watch the rain, these last few times I didn't go because of the lake that forms on our street.  It is very scary to a kitty.
The Feliway quit working for Amber.  She is 12 years old and very stubborn.  Shawna caught her spraying the computer tower one day after spraying Feliway in the same area.  So Amber is not allowed free roam of the house again.  Shawna has decided to put "panties" on her since the male human doesn't want Amber to be locked up.   For the past 8 years or so, Amber had her own room and none of this was a problem.  Now all of a sudden, I, the World Famous Simba Cat, am getting blamed for this other cat's bad habit.  It is ridiculous and I won't stand for it.  She sprays, I beat her up, she sprays again.  Talk about passive aggressive.  At least I am up front and honest, not stinky!

May 2004
Hello Fellow Felines!
Here it is May already and I am having a wonderful spring!  Mike and I go prowling at night and during the day I am busy thumping Amber in the head and picking all the best sleeping spots.   My human yells "Hey! Hey! Be nice!" when I go after Amber, but I pretty much get away with it.  The bad part is Shawna usuallly picks up Amber and puts her in the dresser drawer to nap and be safe.  That is MY dresser drawer and I don't like her fur in there!
Shawna is also still spraying that Feliway around the house- every time I beat up Amber.    Then I am nice to her again until the stuff wears off!

Hello Fellow Felines!

Hooray, Spring is here!  I have been out enjoying new green grass to chew, sunshine warming my fur, and birds singing and flittering everywhere!   Of course there are rainy days here in Ohio, but that just grows more grass and flowers for me to eat!
Speaking of eating flowers, the coolest thing happened.  My human received a flower arrangement from her parents and it had roses, carnations, lilies, black-eyed susans, daisies, and baby's breath!  Guess what I stole and ate....  the baby's breath of course!  I didn't bite any of the other flowers.  Everyone knows kitties love baby's breath!  (not human babies- that's an old wives' tail.)
Take a good look around the site, Shawna is always adding new things here and there.  Be sure to send me your pictures- click on the camera in the menu column and scroll to the bottom of the page.

Hello Fellow Felines!

Happy Saint Patrick's Day! We are waiting for Spring to come blowing in, any day now.  It has been pretty warm here and there and all of us are getting excited!

Happy Valentine's Day!  My humans are back from their vacation and I am soooo happy!  Shawna went to the in-law's to bring Amber home.  They decided they were allergic and didn't want to keep her.  Shawna has ordered a happy cat pheromone spray called Feliway that is supposed to make Mikey and me quit picking on Marlee and make Amber stop marking inside the house.  It is expensive, but will hopefully make us all get along.  I guess obtaining peace can be expensive sometimes.
I have received my masters degree in ethics from Claw University (pictured below) and I am currently trying to decide what classes to take next.

Hello Fellow Felines!

Happy New Year!  I will be graduating this month from Claw University with a Masters in Ethics.  When I get my class photo and diploma, I will be sure to post it for all of you to admire.
This month, my humans Shawna and Dan are leaving for Florida to find our new house.  I hope they find one with a big back yard and lots of trees!  While they are gone, Shawna's friend Kathy will be coming to feed us and clean our toilette.  It is a lonely time for me when they go... I only have Marlee and Mike to play with.   Amber is going to go stay with the in-laws and if they like her, they may adopt her.  Let's hope!

Hello Fellow Felines!

We had our first snow the other night... It was horrible.  I was out there hunting a squirrel and the light rain turned into snow flakes.  There is about an inch on the ground now.   I am now grounded to the house, which irritates me to no end.  I cannot wait until we all move to Florida where it is always warm and sunny.  Christmas is coming soon and my human, Shawna, will be putting up a tree for us to play with.  (even though she says don't touch it ! )

Hello Fellow Felines!

CLAW University is back in session and I have been taking more classes.  I have also joined the Gremlin Hunter's Guild.  My job is to go through assigned pages on their site and look for mistakes (a.k.a. gremlins) and report them to be fixed.  See my badge below!
The weather here in Ohio has been good and bad throughout the past month (normal for Ohio) and I expect it to be the same this month.  I am still spending a lot of time outside, but more during the  warmer daytime than at night.  My human, Shawna, has already built the cat shelter for the winter for those poor destitute strays.  She has a big pan of water on a heater inside there so they won't get thirsty when all the other water sources freeze.  It also blocks the wind and has nice cardboard boxes for them to sleep in.  Boy I sure feel sorry for them- no heated water bed with blankets, like mine.

October 2003
Hello Fellow Felines!

Goodness, October already?  We are having an unseasonable cold snap and it is getting very chilly at night.  This usually doesn't happen for another couple weeks.  Shawna is lamenting the end of her garden since it is probably her last Ohio garden.  Next spring she will be starting new roots of her own in Florida and won't have time to deal with plant roots in Ohio dirt...
The leaves will change quickly now and drop, and I will be spending more time in the water bed rather than the flower bed.   Yawn.....
Send me your emails and pictures!

Hello Fellow Felines!

September sure came fast this year!  I have been spending as much time as possible outside, but I have noticed it is starting to get chilly at night.  I dread the bad weather...  Being inside all the time in the winter makes me fat and crazy.  Shawna tells us this will be our last winter in the north- we are moving to Florida next year.  She tells me I will have a screened back yard with lots of lizards to chase.  I have never seen a lizard but it sounds like it will be fun.
In the meantime, I have leaves and mice to hunt.
Happy Labor Day!

Hello Fellow Felines!

Things are quite wonderful here now that it is summer.  I spend my days looking for quiet dark places to nap and spend my nights out hunting and prowling.

Shawna has added a picture page of strays that come to our porch to eat.  The grey tiger cat is homeless for sure because he has started living in the yard and not leaving.   He is wild though because he won't let Shawna near him.   Poor guy.
She has also added a page with free programs you can download... take a look around, you may find something you need!

Enjoy the corny one liner cat jokes below and be sure to upload your own kitty pictures on the photo page.  You want to be famous, don't you?

June 2003
Hello Fellow Felines!

June first was Mikey's 6th birthday.  I will be 9 years old next month...  Since Shawna doesn't know exactly when I was born, she shares her birthday with me.  It is the same for all of us felines here.   Danny Jr. shares his birthday with Amber who is now 12.  Marlee had tax day for her 8th birthday, and Mike was guesstimated June first.  Rescued kitties get birthdays picked out for them.
We are all verry happy kitties here.  The weather is mostly wonderful and we play outside a lot now.  Mike brought Shawna a mouse and one of the strays brought a bird.  She gets lots of presents from us kitties and she always acts like she appreciates them.  I wonder why I never see her eat them?
I quit bringing her leaves after I saw her throw them back in the yard.  Humans sure are funny creatures.

Hello Fellow Felines!

Shawna ran across this letter while searching for interesting graphics and it almost made her cry.  She could have written this letter herself, it fit so well.  This is in honor of White Toe, Pushy, Gray, Boris, Beauty, Yellow, Blondie, Missy, Mama Tom, White Toe Jr., Scaredy Cat, Gray Tiger, Tiger with the White Paws, and all the other visitors to my back porch.

I have been spending time in the windows, prowling around in the new grass, and sniffing around the bird feeder. I love Spring.

This month, I have graduated from CLAW University with an Honorary Degree in Ethics.  I qualify for the Masters Degree too, but they have a paperwork snafu going on over there, so I am not sure I am going to get it.  Wish me luck!

Hello Fellow Felines!

I am having a wonderful time.  Excepting the rainy cold days now and then, the weather is beautiful!  My world has gotten a whole lot bigger lately considering White Toe and Pushy moved out.  I have been playing fetch with Shawna down the basement steps and also racing at top speed to the second floor and down to the basement again.  Marlee and I don't fight so much anymore and the house feels a whole lot happier.

Hello Fellow Felines!

Spring is coming soon!  It is supposed to start this month but here in Ohio, that doesn't mean the end of the snow.  Any way you look at it though, there will be warmer days and new green grass to chew on.

Shawna has already gotten spring cleaning fever and started tearing apart the house.  The living room has new paint and curtains and even a new area rug for me to rub my paws on.  I don't know which room she will chose next but I will be sure to supervise her well and check out all the materials for kitty quality control.

3-25-03  Shawna started painting another room!  First she had to rip down a bunch of wall paper and I watched.  It would have been fun to play with had it not been so slimy.

Hello Fellow Felines!

We have a month or so left of this really cold weather and then I can go outside to play. I miss playing chase in the yard with Mike because there is so much more room to zig-zag and you know how we cats love to zig and zag!  Try that in the house and you end up running into table legs or humans!

White Toe will be leaving when the weather gets warm and Pushy should be leaving for Columbus over the weekend of the 9th. At least then I will have one more room in which to play hide and seek.

2-6-03  On the news the past few days, the Cleveland Animal Protective League has shared the sad news that most all of the cats in the shelter have died.  What has happened is Parvo disease has raced through the shelter and cats who were fine one day were gone the next.  The dogs can be treated but cats go too quickly to be helped.  The disease came into the shelter by way of a stray or on the bottom of someone's shoe.  Cats who have vaccinations are immune to Parvo.  If you have had a feline distemper shot also known as feline panleukopenia, you are safe from this disease.  Even if you are an indoor cat, a human visitor to your house can bring in the disease on the bottom of shoes, if you know what I mean.   Please get your shots, they are very important.

2-9-03  Pushy Cat has moved out, adopted by Dan Jr., to live in Columbus, far away from me!!

2-15-03  Shawna really misses that Pushy Cat.  He is getting along okay at his new home.  He is especially enamored with the basement there.

Hello Fellow Felines!

The past month has been pretty hectic around here.  Shawna has another cat stashed in the spare room upstairs and Ol' White Toe still has control of the basement.  The cat upstairs is going to get "fixed" and then he is moving to Columbus to live with Danny Jr.  Shawna named him Pushy because he has been trying to push his way into my house since fall.  His former owners threw him out or left him behind when they moved.  He is young little tiger, maybe 8 or 9 months.  I personally think he is a pest because that spare room belongs to ME!  Besides, he talks too much and his eyes look crossed.  Silly Cat.

DECEMBER

Hello Fellow Felines!

The weather has turned nasty here in Ohio and I am spending my days lolling in the sun spots on the carpet and snuggling in Shawna's warm water bed.  That ol' White Toe cat is still in my basement but he is all better now.  He has been wanting out, but Shawna won't put him out in the snow.

Lately I have been having fun harrassing Marlee, fighting with Mike, and playing with the wires behind the TV.  Shawna gets so mad and yells for me to get out of there. I can't help myself though; it is so much fun to watch her jump up and down when I step on the off switch on that power strip she has EVERYTHING plugged into! Just wait until she puts up our Christmas tree, then the real fun will begin!

12-01-2002  Updated website, added new links to link page, added a web log for all these updates, and added a few new pictures.

12-05-2002  Yesterday, White Toe went outside on a leash for about 10 minutes.  He seemed surprised by the snow and was happy to come back in to the warm house.

12-11-2002  White Toe gets to go out after dinner now for a little while.  He hasn't run off but prefers to follow Shawna around.

Hello Fellow Felines!

Well after two years on Fortune City, I have relocated to Tripod.  My human refuses to learn html and Fortune City took away her free site building tools.  Hurray for Tripod and Trellix!!
So anyway, here's the latest:  Ol' White Toe showed up last Saturday on death's door.  He hadn't been around for the past few weeks and Shawna was shocked to see how bad he was.  He is now in the basement, recovering from his illness and Shawna won't let me go down to see him.  I guess she is afraid I will get sick too or thump him in the head.  After he is well, Shawna doesn't know what she will do with him.  Any suggestions?

 11-6-2002   Moved to new site.

11-13-2002  Added the new guest book.  The old one disappeared when I deleted the old site.   White Toe is still recovering from his illness.  Shawna took him to the vet and EVERYTHING was wrong with him.  I have been playing in the leaves outside lately.

11-30-2002  Well Ol' White Toe is well now.  He is wanting out of the basement but our weather here has turned nasty.  There are several inches of snow blowing and drifting around out there tonight and we can't let him out.  He hasn't grown enough fur to last out in the cold.  Dan says we may have to keep him 'til spring.
