Dear Sweet Simba passed away February 7, 2015 from renal failure. She was 22 years old.
FELINE FACTS
A cat's heart beats at 110 to 140 beats per minute,
twice as fast as a human heart.
Cats can have freckles. They can appear anywhere on a
cat's skin and even in its mouth.
Both humans and cats have identical regions in the brain responsible for emotion.
Cats can see an ant at a distance of six meters! While looking straight ahead they can also see sideways in
an angle of 45 degrees, but only 2-dimensional. In pitch-darkness their eyes become more like a kind of ears: the pupils pick
up acoustic vibrations.
Cats can judge within three inches the location of a sound being made one yard away. This is an essential
skill for a predator who needs to catch a mouse hiding in tall grass..
